From the little I've seen about Ramaswamy, I like the man. I can't pretend to know his entire platform (yet), but he's articulate and intelligent and I love his policy positions that I do know about. He's also not weighed down by some political history, he starts with a clean(er) slate.
I like DeSantis, good track record in Florida, very close in the policy arena, although I don't like culture wars. Become POTUS, then simply do the right thing. In a way, I think his cultural warrior stuff can be used against him like Trump's behavior is used against him. Wait until 2028 Ron, stay in Florida for now.
I like Tim Scott, Kristi Noem and I'm intrigued by Francis Suarez
I dislike Pence, Cheney, Bolton, Hurd. I've soured some on Christie & Haley.
Burgum seems interesting, know too little to even have a real opinion on the man.
I have said many times that Trump was the best POTUS in the policy arena in my lifetime. Problem is he's also a thin skinned egomaniac and that doesn't come across well. He also expects 100% lockstep loyalty, which is part of what I despise about the swamp. I hate absolute voting along party lines and elected officials being afraid to say what they really think. I'll obviously support Trump if he's the nominee, but I'm leaning towards a couple of the other candidates in the primary.
Look at the Presidential polling 16 months out in prior elections, and you'll find they're pretty meaningless
Biden nowhere to be found in 2020. And Trump in a landslide reelection (before the pandemic and Floyd)
Trump being laughed at in 2016. Hillary in a landslide
Don't remember much about 2012, other than Obama not polling well because all his policies failed / suck.
It was Hillary vs Rudy in 2008
Bush 41 in a landslide in 92
